Can I adopt a pet from Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department?

In general, Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) will not arrange adoption of animals directly with the public.  Individuals can adopt abandoned or surrendered animals in AFCD through approved animal welfare organizations which involved in the re-homing programme.  

AFCD will choose healthy animals with acceptable temperament from abandoned or surrendered animals. These animals will be sent to approved animal welfare organizations for public to adopt. These animals include dogs, cats and rabbits. Please contact animal welfare organization for details on adoption procedures.
