The claim period of the Working Family Allowanc (WFA) covers the immediate past six calendar months before the submission of the application. e.g. For applications submitted during the period from 1 to 30 April 2019, the claim period should be from October 2018 to March 2019.

Note: The WFAO does not accept applications submitted by e-mail or fax.
- Applicants can also submit the application documents through the Scheme’s website (wfa.gov.hk), the Commonly Used Government Forms at GovHK (www.gov.hk) or Government Forms website (www.info.gov.hk/forms).
Starting from 1 April 2019, the WFAO will take up the administration of the individual-based Work Incentive Transport Subsidy (WITS) Scheme. If the WITS applicant is also a household member of a WFA application, and he/she and the WFA applicant plan to submit the WFA Application and the WITS application in the same month, please submit the relevant application forms together so that WFAO can process the applications in one go. The relevant correspondences and notification of application results will be sent to the correspondence address/ reported residential address of the WFA and WITS applicants respectively. All the personal information and relevant documentary proofs submitted for WFA and WITS applications will be shared for use in processing the applications in one go. The approved WFA and WITS will be disbursed to the designated bank accounts of the WFA and WITS applicants respectively.

- Original copy of Application Form (WFA001B);
- Other Supplementary Form(s) to be used depending on the situation (if applicable)(WFA002B to WFA009B). “Form for Reporting the Working Hours of Other Family Members” (LIFA003B) is no longer applicable upon the implementation of the enhancements on 1 April 2018 and hence is no longer provided ;
- Checklist for Submission of Documents for Application (WFA200B) ; and
- Documentary proof (see the table below)(Only required to provide the copy of documents unless specified)
