Citizens may use the Rates and Government Rent Calculator to estimate the amount of rates and Government rent payable for the latest 3 years of assessment.

Rates
Rates percentage charge of domestic tenements:

  • Before 1 January 2025:  5% of the rateable value
  • Starting from January to March 2025 (i.e. the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024-25) :
    • For tenements with rateable value of or below $550,000, the rates percentage charge remain at 5%,
    • for tenements with rateable value over $550,000, the rates percentage charge will be calculated according to the progressive rating system

  • For tenements not subject to the progressive rating system (e.g. public rental housing flats), the rates continue to be charged at 5%.


Rates percentage charge for all non-domestic tenements is calculated at 5% of the rateable value.
 

Government Rent
Government rent charged is calculated at 3% of the rateable value.
