- The eDL is the electronic version of the physical driving licence (DL). If you are DL holder, there is no need to making application to the Transport Department (TD) separately or paying any additional fee for the eDL.
- According to law, when motorists are driving on the roads or are requested to produce a DL, they can choose to carry or produce an eDL in the place of a physical DL. However, motorists may still have to use a physical DL in certain situations, such as when driving overseas or surrendering the relevant DL after being disqualified from driving.
- eDL is an additional and optional form of DL. All motorists are still required to apply for and renew the physical DL.
