The Transport Department launched the e-Licensing Portal (e-LP) (elicensingportal.td.gov.hk/login) to provide convenience for registered vehicle owners and drivers in renewing their vehicle and driving licences and making enquiries about their licences.  The e-LP provides a one-stop service platform for licence applications and enquiries. The functions available for e-LP users include:

  • enquire driving licence, driving entitlements and licence expiry date
  • enquire vehicles registered under their name and the expiry dates of relevant licences
  • enquire the information on permits held by them
  • enquire driving-offence points record
  • enquire the taxi-driver-offence points records
  • make online booking for driving tests and check the appointment records
  • track progress and results of online licensing applications
  • choose to receive email reminders for vehicle and driving licence renewals

How to register an e-LP account

  • Hong Kong Identity Card (HKIC) holders can use "iAM Smart" for registration as an e-LP user.
  • Non-HKIC holders (including holders of passports or Exit/Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macao, companies or organisations) can use a digital certificate or the e-contact means (ECM) registered with TD to create an e-LP account.
