How to make a request to authorise another person to complete the purchase

  1. If an applicant or any family member who intends to become a joint owner needs to authorise another person to complete the purchase on his/her behalf, he/she has to seek the HOS Sales Unit’s prior approval in writing as soon as possible before the flat selection date.
    • the written request should include:
      • application number
      • random order (i.e. flat selection order)
      • name of applicant
      • contact phone number
      • reason of the authorization and copy of supporting document (if any)
      • date of the request
      • signed by the applicant
    • ways to submit the written request
      • By mail to: HOS Sales Unit, Podium Level 1, Hong Kong Housing Authority Customer Service Centre, 3 Wang Tau Hom South Road, Kowloon; or
      • by fax to: 2339 6680

  2. The HOS Sales Unit will contact the applicant after receiving the request.  If the request is approved by the HOS Sales Unit, the applicant / joint owner is required to sign a valid Power of Attorney at a solicitor firm to authorise a family member aged 18 or above listed on the application form to complete the purchase on his/her behalf.  If the applicant is the only person listed in the application form, he/she may authorise his/her relative to complete the purchase on his/her behalf, provided that the authorised person is aged 18 or above and is holding a valid Power of Attorney.

Points to Note: Applicants need to bear and be responsible for all the fees required for obtaining the Power of Attorney.
